MKS Web Design offers a bunch of different ongoing services! Our services range from organic SEO to virus/malware removal to graphic design and PPC management.

We are trained to work as consultants and find the best way to help our clients based on your goals. We will share recommendations based on your goals during the website project and offer a monthly consultation package that can help you achieve long-term success.

You do! You will have complete admin access and full ownership of your website design once it's complete and lives. Our websites are built on WordPress and can transfer to most web hosts if you choose to host and manage the website yourself. We want you to stay with us because you want to, not because you have to.

All of our websites are built with best practices and without bloated code, optimizing it for Search Engines. We also like to include SEO Audits in all of our website projects. The audit provides a plethora of information and installation onto your website and recommendations for strategy moving forward.

Yes, traditionally, we split the payment of web design into two payments. The first 50% is usually taken once you have seen your homepage's mockup and you’re happy to move forward. The following 50% is taken upon website completion and launch. We can also offer separate financing depending on your project needs; take a look here for more information!

If there is something wrong with your site's infrastructure or there is a needed software update, we will always make those changes as quickly as possible. We will do our best to help with questions about the site, share how to make small changes, etc. Our support can walk you through the different design and development options that can be work ordered for larger change items. Keeping a website up-and-running is typically covered free-of-charge in our support for most cases.

No premade templates are used here! Every website we at MKS Web Design create is custom from the very start and crafted specifically made for each client. We do not use pre-made templates or themes!

The best eCommerce platform for your website truly depends on what you’re looking for! In the scoping phase, your Digital Strategist will assess your needs based on the number of products you have, custom functionality required, and more. We tend to use WooCommerce for a majority of our custom eCommerce website designs.

Yes! We can port the domain to us and manage it on your behalf at no additional cost. If desired, you can choose to keep your existing domain registrar and direct it to the website we build.

Yes! MKS Web Design can use a combination of stock photography and images/graphics that relate to your business or industry to help create a professional design for your website.

We’re also happy to provide creative direction and contact information for some amazing photographers!

Yes, but with some extra cost and setup. We can help you create a custom email address(s) with your domain name to work with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Both services provide great email hosting and direct integrations with office software, collaboration tools, and file storage.

It depends! There’s no clear answer to this question as search engines change their requirements all the time. However, we have had clients get to the first page for their main keywords within 2 days of launching, and we’ve had websites take 2–3 months for Google to show them on the first page. However, there is no guarantee you will ever get to the first page of Google for your main keywords; some of your competitors might have huge marketing budgets or have been there for years.

While MKS Web Design may optimize your site for organic SEO, it takes a while for Google and Bing (among many others) to crawl your website to see the changes that you’ve made and, in turn, improve your rankings. Organic SEO can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months - you are simply at the mercy of Search Engines. That being said, if a first-place rank is important to your team, we’d recommend a Pay-Per-Click strategy that can put your results above the fold.

Unfortunately, no. We only use WordPress to build websites. We have used other platforms in the past but not anymore. WordPress is a platform that’s easily accessible for our clients to update themselves, it’s search engine friendly, and it’s easy to integrate with third-party companies.

The websites MKS Web Design creates are made with longevity in mind and the flexibility to continue to update them. The industry standard is to update your website every 2 to 3 years, but we are happy to partner with our clients to create long-lasting sites that are easy to refresh.

Yes! We can arrange a maintenance package to suit your needs. This can range from 1hr per month to 10 hours per month, and we can discuss a package that’s right for you. Take a look to learn more here!

Throughout working with MKS Web Design, we will continually gather information about your project to provide the most accurate estimate for your project. The cost depends on the amount of time used to design and custom develop your project. MKS Web Design offers business-specific products to help keep the cost as minimal as possible. Custom design and/or development work is billed accordingly, typically in half up front and a half at the end process. We’re happy to figure out the best plan to make your website work for you!

We can do that! We have the ability to get professional copywriting completed for your website for text/content on some or all pages of your website. Although our design services are typically based on you providing most text/content for your website, we're more than happy to help if writing text and content for your web pages is helpful!

This can really depend! But on average, we can gauge that a website will take between 60 to 120 days to build a website from start to finish, providing we have all the information from you. Generally speaking, the website design can take as long as it takes to gather and apply the appropriate content (text and images) to your website.

If you find yourself having difficulty writing your own content, we’re happy to contact a content strategist or copywriter. You can have someone help you with your entire site or just a few pages - we’re happy to be flexible.

We will walk through training on how to use your site as we approach launch! We wait until your site is almost complete so that you can learn to use the CMS and make updates on the backend of your actual website! We’ll also record this training so you can see it in the future.

Absolutely! We believe our mobile designs are some of the best you'll find anywhere. We put a high emphasis on making sure the website experience on a mobile device is second-to-none. Mobile responsive websites are critical in this modern digital era!

A website is more than just the physical appearance; it’s also the site architecture and the technology behind it, both of which may or may not be helping or hurting you in Google rankings and user experience. If you’re looking for just graphic updates or content updates, that’s one thing. Still, if your site is not hitting industry benchmarks (like site speed, mobile responsiveness, content architecture, etc.), then it’s a good time to evaluate your options. Modern websites have more functionality available to them to update and maintain your website much easier in the future!

Yes, we do. We will accept RFPs and will provide proposals based on particular minimum project needs. For single-page and 5-7 page designs, we do not typically offer proposals or accept RFP. We can produce what's needed for larger-scale projects to manage the project and move it forward properly.

Yes! We host all of the websites we create with a fully managed web hosting environment. With our hosting, we have 99% uptime, monthly, weekly, and daily backups, firewall protection, malware protection, SSL certificates, and much more!

We build all of our websites on a Content Management System, also known as a CMS. This allows you to make updates to your site without having to know any coding language.

Depending on your business needs, we will make a recommendation for what will fit your needs best. Our clients' standard website is built on a WordPress CMS because it’s powerful yet straightforward to use our users' platform. It ties in with many eCommerce systems as well to give you a full marketing platform.

All of our work is performed in-house locally here in Kansas (USA). No subcontractors and no outsourcing for any projects, whatsoever.

While we love working with local Kansas businesses, we actually work with businesses all over the country and are happy to accommodate. We are happy to hop on conference calls, video chats, and do screen shares throughout the process to interface with your team the best we can!

Your launch date will depend on the complexity of your website. Our usual turnaround is between 2 to 6 months, depending on our client’s ability to provide feedback, content, and the build's overall complexity.
